Rebranding
A masterclass in glow-up
With a reach of over 10,000 schools, Newspaper In Education (NIE) is a classroom institution. But for grades 6 through 12, it can often feel like “homework”. They came to us to make this “homework” a bit more fun and less like work.
Our aim was to transform @TimesNIE from a necessary supplement into a vibrant, visual-first experience. We knew we had to respect the weightage of the TOI masthead, but we did so with a dash of mischief.
We anchored the design in that iconic typography but built a playground around it. A layer of quirky, digital-native stickers bridged the gap between legacy journalism and the fast-paced aesthetic of modern subcultures.
The result? A newspaper that finally looks as exciting as the stories it covers.
