Longwalks

Tired of the soullessness of social media, Longwalks was created with conversations in mind and empathy at its heart. The California based app aims to foster deeper friendships than one would expect from its Californian cousins—a fact instantly evident from the way it talks and looks.

Despite these ambitions, however, we knew it was important to approach the exercise with restraint. Even the most well-intentioned stuff can be saccharine if not tempered well.

Bringing it all together is a well-rounded (heh) cast of diverse characters, who chat and banter and frolic as an ode to the meaningful interactions that Longwalks plays host to—less focus on stealing data and more on building some much-needed bonhomie in these times.

All across, pleasant pastel shades complement soft shapes to form the basis of the visual system. The colours have been chosen to be warm and subdued, never at odds. The typography is similarly welcoming, full of charm and character in its rounded structure.

A significant part of the system is the depiction of vegetation, with nature playing a role in making our worlds seem alive and organic.
